This live online course takes you behind the scenes of the music supervision world, showing you exactly how songs are chosen, cleared, and placed across visual media. Whether you're a creative wanting to break into sync, a manager hoping to land placements for your artists, or simply curious about how it all works – this course gives you the insight, tools, and knowledge to get started.
You’ll learn how supervisors collaborate with directors, producers, and rights holders, how deals are structured, how sync fees are negotiated, and how to pitch music effectively. Your Tutor: Joe Rice
Joe Rice is an experienced and versatile music supervisor with over a decade of work spanning commercials and feature films. He began his career in radio production at London’s iconic Rinse FM before making the transition into music supervision in 2015, where he joined creative agency Pitch & Sync, quickly rising from music researcher to music supervisor in 2016. There, he cut his teeth on major campaigns with global brands like Nike, Desperados, and Samsung.
In 2018, Joe moved over to SixtyFour Music, where he expanded his scope to include long-form narrative work alongside high-profile commercial projects. Splitting his time between the London and New York offices, Joe has overseen music and score supervision for award-winning films such as Poor Things and Kinds of Kindness, and is currently working on BUGONIA with acclaimed director Yorgos Lanthimos and composer Jerskin Fendrix. His commercial credits at SixtyFour include standout campaigns for Burberry, Etsy, HSBC, and Lloyds.
